Jeremy Knibbs, a local business-man from Llangollen, has been appointed Co-ordinator for the Dee Valley Small Towns & Villages Enterprise Initiative.
Jeremy, who runs Oakmere Guesthouse with his wife Lyndsey and children Joanna & Timothy said: -
"I am delighted to be given this opportunity to co-ordinate this Enterprise Initiative for the Dee Valley, on behalf of the Welsh Development Agency and Denbighshire County Council.
As a member of the Dee Valley business community, I recognise that we have a tremendous window of opportunity before us, not just with the availability of many and varied enterprise development grants but also the broad spectrum of available business support expertise. I hope to be able to put my private sector corporate experience to use together with knowledge gained during my last two years of Chairing the Llangollen Tourism Association, in helping enterprise to flourish.
Our challenge is to identify and create new sustainable opportunities whilst at the same time to improve and revitalise existing enterprise. We need to recognise and exploit the strengths that can be derived from cross sector and cross community partnerships and use them to forge a sustainable future for the Dee Valley."
In order to focus on this project, Jeremy has resigned his position as Chairman of the Llangollen Tourism Association.
