Women’s Institute members at Glyndyfrdwy were given a rare treat when the Gresford Bell Ringers came to entertain at their monthly meeting. The twelve ringers from All Saints Church, Gresford played a range of music - from Sospan Fach and The March of the Men of Harlech to Summertime and The Trumpet Chorale by J.S. Bach.
The Bells - some costing as much as £400 each were bought by a Mr. and Mrs. Randles some thirty years ago, from Whitechapel Foundry. Mrs. Randles, now 94 years old and in a Nursing Home, donated the bells to the church, who have made sure they are well insured!
The bell ringers enjoy meeting together for practices and play at church services and local residential homes. Last Christmas they were invited to play at Delamere Forest Christmas market. For further information contact Jill Roberts, 01978 854829. |
